Completing the outdoor space

Decking & Hardscape
Duration: 1-2 weeks | Completing the outdoor space
The pool deck is the surface area surrounding your pool and is one of the most visible elements of your finished project. It ties the pool into your broader outdoor living space and provides the functional area for lounging, entertaining, and accessing the water.
Decking materials include poured concrete (broom-finished, stamped, or exposed aggregate), natural stone, travertine pavers, porcelain pavers, or interlocking concrete pavers. Each material offers a different look, texture, and price point. In Orange County, the deck surface must meet a minimum slip-resistance standard (coefficient of friction of at least 0.6) and must be able to withstand sun, water, and pool chemical exposure.
This phase may also include any retaining walls, raised planters, outdoor kitchen areas, fire features, or other hardscape elements that are part of your overall backyard design. Proper drainage is incorporated to direct water away from the pool and your home’s foundation.
POPULAR DECKING OPTIONS:
- Travertine pavers: elegant, naturally cool underfoot
- Stamped concrete: versatile patterns, cost-effective
- Porcelain pavers: modern aesthetic, low maintenance
- Brushed concrete: clean, classic, slip-resistant
