Interior Finish

Duration: 1-2 days (application) | The final transformation

The interior finish is the last major material applied to your pool. This is the surface that holds the water, gives your pool its color, and determines the texture you feel underfoot. It is applied by hand-troweling a cementitious mixture directly over the cured shotcrete shell in a single continuous application.

You have three main categories to choose from. Traditional white plaster ($3-6/sq ft) is the classic smooth finish that gives pools a bright blue appearance. Quartz finishes ($5-9/sq ft) blend crushed quartz crystals with cement for enhanced durability, color variety, and a subtle sparkle. Pebble finishes ($6-10/sq ft) incorporate natural stone aggregates for the most durable option with a natural, textured appearance and the longest lifespan of 15-20 years.

The interior finish must be applied under specific conditions. Extreme heat, wind, or rain can force rescheduling to ensure a proper result. Once applied, the finish requires 24-48 hours of initial curing before the pool can begin filling with water.

CHOOSING YOUR FINISH:

Ask your PoolMax project manager for physical samples. Pebble colors appear different wet vs. dry, and sunlight can shift the water tone significantly. We recommend viewing samples poolside at your home before making a final selection.
