Equipment & Systems Installation

Duration: 1-3 days | Your pool’s engine room

Your pool equipment is installed on a concrete pad, typically located at the side or rear of your home. This is the mechanical heart of your pool, housing every system that keeps your water clean, warm, sanitized, and beautifully lit. We use professional-grade equipment from Jandy, one of the most trusted names in the pool industry.

All equipment plumbing is connected, pressure-tested, and checked for leaks before startup. Electrical connections are made by a licensed electrician and inspected for proper bonding, grounding, and code compliance. The equipment area is the maintenance hub of your pool, so we ensure it is organized and accessible for future servicing.

For pool automation, we install the Jandy iAqualink system. iAqualink gives you full control of your pump, heater, lights, salt system, and water features from your smartphone, tablet, or a wall-mounted panel. Its clean, intuitive interface makes daily pool management simple, whether you are at home or away.

Pool Equipment Guide

What each component does and why it matters

Variable-Speed Pump Jandy

The pump is the heart of your pool’s circulation system. It pulls water from the skimmers and main drain, pushes it through the filter and heater, and returns it to the pool through the return jets. A variable-speed pump adjusts its motor speed to match the task, running at low speed for daily filtration and ramping up for cleaning or spa jets. This saves significant energy compared to old single-speed pumps and is required by California energy code (Title 20).

Filter Jandy cartridge or DE

The filter removes debris, dirt, and microscopic particles from your pool water as it circulates. Cartridge filters use replaceable fabric elements that trap particles down to 10-15 microns. DE (diatomaceous earth) filters provide even finer filtration down to 3-5 microns for crystal-clear water. Your filter only needs periodic cleaning or element replacement, typically every 6-12 months.

Heat Pump (Primary Heater) Jandy

A heat pump extracts warmth from the outside air and transfers it to your pool water using refrigerant technology, similar to an air conditioner in reverse. It is highly energy-efficient, often using one-fifth the energy of gas. Under California Title 24, Part 6 (effective January 1, 2026), a heat pump or solar thermal system is now required as the primary heat source for all new residential pools. Heat pumps are ideal for maintaining consistent temperature in Southern California’s mild climate.

Gas Heater (Supplemental) Jandy

A gas heater uses natural gas or propane to heat water on demand, raising the temperature by several degrees per hour. It is the fastest way to bring a pool or spa up to temperature on short notice. Important: Under the 2025 California Title 24 energy standards, gas heaters can no longer serve as the primary heat source for new pools. A gas heater may be installed as a supplemental or backup unit, paired with a heat pump or solar system as the primary source.

Salt Chlorine Generator Jandy

A salt system converts dissolved salt in your pool water into chlorine through a process called electrolysis. A small amount of pool-grade salt is added to the water and the generator cell produces a steady, consistent level of sanitizer automatically. This eliminates the need to buy, store, and handle liquid or tablet chlorine. Salt pools feel noticeably softer on skin and eyes compared to traditionally chlorinated water.

LED Pool & Spa Lights Jandy

Underwater LED lights illuminate your pool and spa for nighttime swimming and ambiance. Modern LED fixtures offer full-color modes and programmable light shows that can cycle through colors or hold a single tone to match your mood or event. LED lights last for years and use a fraction of the energy of older incandescent pool lights.

Automation & Controls Jandy iAqualink

The Jandy iAqualink system is the brain of your pool. It connects to and controls every piece of equipment from a single app on your phone. You can set pump schedules, adjust the heater temperature, turn lights on and off, activate water features, and monitor your pool’s status from anywhere. The iAqualink interface is designed to be simple and intuitive, so managing your pool feels effortless.
